Opito setup guide
Step-by-step instructions are provided below for connecting to and setting up Opito VMS boards.
Step One: Request an Opito API key
Before you can connect to your Opito board, you will require an API key from Opito in order to add it to your connection settings within Mooven.
An API key is a long, random, and meaningless-looking string of letters, numbers, and sometimes symbols. It acts like a digital ID badge or a secret password that an application uses to talk to a server.
Step Two: Connecting to an Opito in Mooven
2.1 Go to Smart VMS
Within Mooven, navigate to the monitoring site that will be used to control your VMS sign. From here, select 'SmartVMS' in the top navigation.
2.2 Connect to Opito with your Opito API key
Click on the Connections button and select the Opito option from the tabs.
Here you will be able to enter your Opito API Key.
Once you've entered your key be sure to test the connection by clicking on the Test connection button.
If successful, close the modal. You'll now be able to access all the Opito boards that have been allocated to you by Opito.
Step Three: Add an Opito smart VMS board
3.1 Add smart VMS
Click on the Opito smart VMS board.
From here, you will be prompted to give your board a name and Board manufacturer.
Select Opito from the drowndown.
If you have been allocated boards by Opito, you'll then be asked to select from the available boards.
You'll also be prompted to select the format of the board.
Check the specifications of your board as to whether it can accept 12 Characters per line across 3 lines, or the standard 8 characters per line across 3 lines.
You've now connected to your Opito board. Next you'll need to set up messaging. See the guides below for how to configure your messaging.
