User permissions
Updated over a week ago

User permissions are an important part of managing access to information within Mooven. They serve as a collaborative tool, fostering teamwork among various stakeholders while safeguarding sensitive project details. Within Mooven, there are two primary user permissions:

Editor: As an editor, you have full control over site management, including the creation of new sites, initiation or cessation of monitoring, and the ability to invite team members as editors or viewers. Editors can perform tasks such as adding, editing or deleting monitoring schedules, routes, site details, shared views, annotations, and work areas. They can also enrol team members in SMS alerts.

Viewer: As a viewer, you have access to view sites and routes on Mooven. They can generate additional information like impact assessments or scorecard reports and create saved views for personal use. Viewers also have the capability to enrol themselves in SMS alerts.

Key permissions of Editor and Viewer include:

Editor

Viewer

  • Create a new site

  • Start or stop monitoring

  • Add, edit or delete monitoring schedules

  • Edit routes

  • Edit site details, including KPIs

  • Create, edit, delete shared views

  • Create, edit, delete annotations

  • Create, edit, delete work areas

  • Invite team members and guests

  • Enrol others in SMS alerts

They can perform everything a Viewer can do:

  • Create a saved view (this view is visible to the individual viewer only)

  • Generate impact assessment

  • Request a scorecard

  • Enrol oneself in SMS alerts

  • Create a saved view (this view is visible to the individual viewer only)

  • Request a scorecard

By effectively managing access to the information within Mooven, you can leverage user permissions to be a great source of team collaboration and engagement in your work zone and project. Tailored project access can be achieved through:

  1. Adding a user to your specific project/site or the entire Mooven account for your organisation.

  2. Sharing a tailored view of a specific route or area of focus for the members of your project/site to quickly access.

  3. Sharing a public view of a site via a publically available URL to a wider group of stakeholders.

Please note that in March 2024, we adjusted some Viewer permissions based on customer feedback. Viewers who previously had wider access, such as creating sites, will no longer have this capability. If you need to change any users to Editors to ensure appropriate access, you can do so within the Mooven platform.

Please let us know if you have any feedback on user permissions. If the Viewer and Editor roles do not meet your needs we would be interested to discuss your needs to inform the future development evolution of our Mooven product.
